The Tresma® system (reinforced earth stabilised with mesh) is an earth structure reinforced by traction resistant elements, to perform embankment contention and consolidation works. These are performed with elements of triple twist hexagonal metal mesh of 8 x 10 type, galvanized by the Galfan® process (protection against corrosion with an alloy of 95% zinc and 5% aluminium) and lined with grey PVC. It is an alternative to the concrete wall as a contention structure and an excellent option when it is necessary to form or recompose the mass to be contained. These are optimised structures, that are economically competitive, due to the high structural performance, constructive simplicity and under environmental impact. Its flexibility with regard to structure, enables this to be used on soft ground.
Continuous structural element, comprised of a metal grid with Triple Twist hexagonal mesh and a bio-mattres of coconut fibres on its exterior wall that allows natural development of the plant cover.
The lid, the face (wall) and the base (reinforcement mesh) are formed by a sole piece of fabric. The wall (front face) is reinforced by a panel of electro-welded mesh. It is kept in place by triangles and corrugated steel rods that define the intended slope (60º, 65º or 70º). More vertical slopes do not favour vegetation.
The Triple Twist mesh is type 8 x 10 Galfan® galvanized (Zn95Al5, with lanthanum and cerium additions), lined with grey P.V.C., Ø=2.70/3.70 mm for Tresma Green and Ø=2.20/3.20 mm for Tresma Green Light. The wall to catch hold material and vegetation may be lined (behind the plastified metal mesh) with an organic mat of coconut fibre (in the EARTH type), or by a polypropylene geomesh (in the WATER type) when it has to be in contact with water courses.
