REINFORCED EARTH STRUCTURE WITH AN EXTERIOR STONE WALL TO PERFORM CONTENTION WORKS AND CONSOLIDATION OF EMBANKMENTS
The Tresma® system (reinforced earth stabilised with mesh) is an earth structure reinforced by traction resistant elements, to perform embankment contention and consolidation works. These are performed with elements of triple twist hexagonal metal mesh of 8 x 10 type, galvanized by the Galfan® process (protection against corrosion with an alloy of 95% zinc and 5% aluminium) and lined with grey PVC. It is an alternative to the concrete wall as a contention structure and an excellent option when it is necessary to form or recompose the mass to be contained. These are optimised structures, that are economically competitive, due to the high structural performance, constructive simplicity and under environmental impact. Its flexibility with regard to structure, enables this to be used on soft ground. Continuous structural element, comprised of a metallic grid with hexagonal meshes of Triple Twist. Its exterior wall is comprised of a prism shaped gabion type box, in Triple Twist hexagonal mesh, made with Galfan® galvanized wire (Zn95Al5), lined with grey P.V.C. and its base extends inside the ground, thus forming an anchorage. The lid, face (wall) and base (reinforcement panel) are formed of a sole sheet of fabric.
