DYNAMIC BARRIERS FOR ROCK-FALL PROTECTION
ARE CHARACTERISED BY THEIR LARGE
IMPACT ABSORPTION CAPACITY.
DUE TO THIS, THEY FORM A HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, SAFE SYSTEM
TO HALT FALLING ROCKS AND OTHER MASSES.
THEIR CONFIGURATION VARIES ACCORDING TO THE REQUIRED
ENERGY OF THE IMPACT FORESEEN.

Dynamic Barriers are formed by a variable geometry structure comprised of a complex system of metal cable panels, triple twist mesh (to intercept small masses), structural elements, energy dissipators, etc.

The cables connect the structural elements to those for dissipation and anchorage. Thanks to their deformation capacity, these elements allow the system to bear great energy from impact.

MACCAFERRI has developed a Barrier System that covers a great spectrum of energy absorption (from 500 kJ to 5.000 kJ) and their configuration (situation, height, characteristics or interaction with other contention and support structures, if any) varies according to the required energy absorption capacity.
