BianMat® has a three-dimensional structure with voids in more than 90% of its volume.
It is used to protect slopes against surface erosion and to stabilise coverages in sanitary fillings. Its presence prevents the soil becoming a sterile surface due to the action of rain water or the wind.
Its main function is to confine the particles of soil, guaranteeing good stabilisation of the surface lined and facilitating seed germination. In addition to to plant development, it acts as permanent reinforcement for their roots.
Specific tests performed at the laboratories of UTAH State University (USA) to determine the performance of BianMat® R under different hydraulic conditions, simulating the efforts generated by a current of water. The product performance also varies according to the duration of the flash flood; due to this, the tests were carried out with a duration of up to 60 hours.
